About Me

Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve always loved fashion and makeup. My sister and I would raid my Gran's wardrobe every Sunday when we visited and we would paint our faces with makeup, dress up in her amazing vintage dresses (which swamped us!) and stumble around in her high heels. My mum used to dress us in the same clothes though and we hated it so much we used to argue, but I think looking back my sister was the person who inspired me into fashion. Being the younger sister, I always looked up to her and she would look so glamorous when she went out for drinks with her friends. I used to steal her clothes quite a lot, which she hated, and she eventually put a lock on her door! (I'm sure all siblings went through this stage:)) I'm definitely known for my bargain hunting and I think I get a lot of that from my mother. She always finds little gems in charity shops/high street sales, which are really good quality and absolute steals in price, you've done good mummy!
All through my teens I would read fashion magazines and always pick out the most outrageous pieces of clothing. I have quite a loud personality and I think that reflects a lot in my image.
Meeting a girl at Music College, who is now one of my best friends and an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who signed to Universal record label last year. Natalie Duncan had a major influence on my style. I remember she was late to one of our lectures and she just walked in the room, strawberry blonde hair, caramel skin, red lips wearing this statement black polka dot skater skirt, chunky black wedges with opaque black tights and a sharp blazer.. It was like looking at Beyoncé, she looked absolutely FLAWLESS! That was it for me, after that day I had a whole new outlook on style and a new friend to go shopping with!
I've never been one to shy away from expressing myself. I've gone through many fashion phases in my life, from Urban to 80's, to 60's to 90's and at 26 years old, I would class my style as high- fashion, with a hint of 60's vintage charm. My style icon's range from Kate Moss, Edie Sedgwick, Suki Waterhouse, but at the moment my fav has to be Olivia Palermo. She always looks flawless from head to toe, not a hair out of place, not a smudge in her makeup. Just perfection! She has a classic look with a modern twist, plus she has a great motto of buying clothes and re-inventing them, mixing prints and cuts and playing around with accessories. She just makes dressing up look so much fun and I adore her for that. I'm sure I’ll be posting lots of outfits of hers in the near future.
Currently I'm living in Brighton, working full- time in a little office job and writing and performing music on the side. I wanted to create this blog, because fashion is important to me. When everything in your life isn't going to plan, you can still get up in the morning, put on some makeup, whack on a pair of heels and feel fabulous. It's not a disguise, it's an empowerment, a gleam of hope, something to look forward to, day after day, outfit after outfit, it never gets boring and it never gets old. It becomes that one thing in your life, you can always rely on to make you feel good and we sure as hell deserve to feel good! :)
